Obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Massachusetts, USA) and an M.B.A. at University of Rochester (New York, USA).
Currently Managing Director of DIASA, white goods and small appliances distributor. Director of Empresas Aliadas, S.A., Vicepresident of Knowledge Group and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Panama.
Past President of the Board of Directors of the Private Sector Council for Educational Assistance (CoSPAE) and currently a member of its Board of Trustees. Past President of the Board of Directors of the Corporate Governance Institute of Panama. Member of the Board of Directors of the National Secretariat for Science and Technology (SENACYT) representing the private sector, Trustee of the National Center for Competitiveness in Panama, and member of the Advisory Council of the International Development Bank in Panama.
Actively participated in the Rotary Club, the Rotary Foundation of Panama (established a program for chess tournaments as well as promoted chess in education concepts with the Ministry of Education) and founding Director of the Global Compact Network in Panama. Have participated in National education dialogues, task forces and member of various private sector organizations and think tanks for education reform.
Initiated his professional career in product development and marketing with Eastman Kodak Co. at its headquarters in Rochester, N.Y. and afterwards in management positions at Industria Nacional de Artefactos, S.A., Leasing de Panama, Kodak Panama/Kodak Export, Ltd. and the Clinical Diagnostics Division of the Eastman Kodak Co. and Johnson & Johnson for the Latin American Region.
